Inflammation
The immune system's response to injury or infection, which can become chronic and harmful.
Inflammation is the immune system's protective response to tissue injury, infection, or irritation, characterized by redness, swelling, heat, pain, and loss of function. Acute inflammation is beneficial and self-limiting. Chronic low-grade inflammation (measured by elevated CRP, IL-6, TNF-α) is a common underlying factor in cardiovascular disease, metabolic syndrome, neurodegenerative diseases, and certain types of hair loss. Scalp inflammation (follicular inflammation) contributes to the progression of androgenetic alopecia. Anti-inflammatory supplements (omega-3, curcumin, vitamin D) target multiple points in inflammatory cascades.
