About

A standardized extract from Phaseolus vulgaris containing alpha-amylase inhibitors that reduce the digestion and caloric absorption of complex carbohydrates. Meta-analyses of clinical trials demonstrate modest but statistically significant support for body weight and body fat reduction.

How It Works

Contains alpha-amylase inhibitors (phaseolamin) that competitively inhibit salivary and pancreatic alpha-amylase, reducing starch digestion and caloric absorption from complex carbohydrates by up to 66% in vitro. Undigested starch passes to the colon where it acts as a prebiotic, producing butyrate and other SCFAs.
